I had the pleasure of attending the Girls Human Rights Awards 2024 this weekend (12 October 2024), hosted by the Girls Human Rights Hub. It was an awe-inspiring celebration with a room filled with this generation's true pioneers of girls and women's human rights campaigners.

The event honoured and celebrated those actively helping to improve girls' human rights, and that it did in abundance.

Girls Human Rights Hub is for all girls and women aged 11-24 years. They provide a platform for girls to learn how to use advocacy, leadership, and litigation to become advocates for their own rights. At the heart of their mission is the promotion of gender equality and the elimination of gender-based violence, empowered by the strength of girls themselves.

Hearing speeches from many individuals about their work and commitment to fighting against gender-based violence, gender disparity, etc., really reminded me of the reason I decided to get into law.

TMP has been a longstanding advocate for those without a voice. Although we primarily focus on employment law, we are expanding into human rights. We collaborate closely with the Equality and Human Rights Commission to ensure that our most important cases are heard.
